Dues:
Each Active or Casual Member must pay Class Dues as well as an Annual Membership Fee. These monies are in order to better serve the organization as a whole. Such funds will be used for the education and promotional benefits of PA JEDI and are not to be used to give any salary to the members of the organization of PA JEDI. To eliminate any confusion the following is an explanation of the two.
Class Dues are the dues paid for each class a member in attendance. The first class that a potential member is in attendance shall be a free class. Each class after the first will be a total of $5.00. This is a constant flat rate and must be paid before the end of class, unless written payment method is arranged with a member of the DSA (Dedicated Service Assembly). If it comes to pass that a member is unable to pay for one or more classes, there may be services they are required to do in lieu of dues. These may include activities like teaching class, helping set up at conventions, doing research for a particular event, etc.
If a member wishes to pay for 1 full year of classes in advance they are more than welcome to make such arrangements. In one standard year there are on average 37 classes. This would equal $185.00 ($5/week x 37 weeks). If a member wished to pay for the full year they would be eligible for a discounted rate of $150.00 ($5/week x 30 weeks). This one-time lump sum must be paid no later than the last class in February.
If a member does pay in advance and they then become unable to continue at classes (they have become in-active or casual members) then their payment stays intact. It cannot be reimbursed, credited towards other classes or refunded.
Note: If a member joins the group after the first of year a pro-rate will be in effect if said member wishes pay a year in advance.
Each member will be required to pay an annual fee of $10 they have served as an active club member. This can be paid in installments over the course of the first 4 classes of the year.
If after paying their Membership fee does a member become unable to continue at classes (they have become in-active or casual members) then their payment stays intact. It cannot be reimbursed, credited towards other classes or refunded.
Minimum Activity Level Requirements:
· Maintain active communication with an official Dedicated Service Representative (DSR). Active contact and participation will be confirmed during monthly & quarterly DSA business meetings.
· Maintain their personal and emergency contact information in the PA JEDI Database.
· Have an approved or working on obtaining an approved PA JEDI costume.
·Have a minimum of 75% attendance within the last 4 (four) consecutive months of classes.
These minimum Activity Level Requirements should be administrated as justly and with as much common sense as possible.
A PA JEDI Dedicated Service Representative may officially request a club vote proposing that a member is Active even if they do not meet the normally established Activity Level requirements.
The reverse is not true, however. If an Active Member who meets all Activity Level requirements they may not be classified as a Casual Member except by their own request. This request should be written and officially submitted to a DSR. A member who has been placed on Casual status may submit an appeal to the DSA for official review.
PA JEDI reserves the right to deny or revoke membership at any time, based on any past criminal history within the laws of the United States of America and/or the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
